Eye Exams for Children, Adults, and Seniors in Edmonton

Our comprehensive eye exams are designed to meet the needs of patients at every stage of life. From a child’s developing visual system to age‑related eye health changes later in life, we tailor every exam to your individual needs, health history, and visual demands.

Your exam frequency will depend on your age:

  •  Children under 19 and adults aged 65 and older should have a comprehensive eye exam every year. These exams are covered by Alberta Health, with a small co-pay.

  •  Adults aged 19 to 64 are recommended to have a full eye exam every two years.

  •  Contact lens patients, regardless of age, should have yearly exams to ensure continued eye health and proper lens fit.

Regular exams allow us to monitor subtle changes over time, ensure prescriptions remain accurate, and support lifelong healthy vision.

Advanced Technology and Clinical Expertise

At Heritage Vision Care, your exam is supported by state‑of‑the‑art diagnostic technology that allows for earlier detection and more precise diagnoses. Advanced imaging tools help us see beyond what the naked eye can detect, providing a more complete picture of your eye health.

Combined with the expertise of our knowledgeable and trusted clinical team, advanced diagnostics help ensure accurate assessments and proactive care plans tailored to you.

Early Detection and Eye Disease Screening

Regular eye exams are a key part of early detection of eye disease. Many serious eye conditions develop slowly over time and may not cause noticeable symptoms until significant vision loss has already happened. Early detection allows for timely management, monitoring, and treatment referrals when necessary. Even if you see clearly, routine exams remain essential for preserving eye health over time.
