Insurance and Direct Billing
At Heritage Vision Care, we offer direct billing to most major insurance providers to make your visit more convenient. While this can reduce what you pay upfront, it is not a guarantee of full coverage. Patients are responsible for any remaining balance not covered by their plan. Please reach out to us today for more information.

Direct Billing Made Easier
When available, we can submit your claim directly at the time of your appointment. However, coverage depends on your individual policy. Deductibles, copayments, and non-covered services may still apply.
Please bring your insurance information with you. While our team can provide estimates, final coverage is always determined by your insurer.
Understanding Your Insurance
Insurance plans vary widely. Some include exams, eyewear, or contact lenses, while others offer limited benefits. We recommend reviewing your plan details ahead of your visit.
If you have multiple providers, let us know which is your primary insurer. Be sure to bring proof of insurance, including your name and plan ID.
Alberta Health Coverage
Alberta Health provides limited coverage for eye care based on age and medical need. Children under 19 and adults 65 and older may be eligible for one annual comprehensive eye exam, while routine exams for adults aged 19 to 64 are typically not covered unless medically necessary.
Additional testing, imaging, or follow-up care may involve extra fees, even when part of the visit is covered.
